Jun 7, 2019 · Overall, Nothing Stays The Same: The Story of The Saxon Pub is a feel good movie. The ending is happy and it’s wonderful because all of these people deserve a place to showcase their art. Music is very important.

“Nothing stays the same except the changes, and the changes are here to stay,” the song at the end credits of Nothing Stays The Same: The Story of the Saxon Pub tells us. It really couldn’t be said better. Life is pretty much in a constant state of flux for everyone, but it is certainly not an individual phenomenon.
Mar 13, 2019 · Featured review. 10/10. Austin as Metaphor for the Country. Great insight to Austin clubs and musicians and the gentrification challenges facing a good number of cities, not just Austin. Film does a good job of bridging the gap between local concerns and telling a universal story.

Feb 8, 2024 · Yes, Nothing Stays the Same: the Story of the Saxon Pub is very much a love-letter to the Saxon Pub and, as such, often comes off like a Saxon Pub infomercial. Yet within this slick, loving doc lie a million little stories whose parts equal a greater whole.
Jul 14, 2020 · It is a must-watch for fans of live music and supporters of live music venues, while anyone on the fence is likely to pop down on the Saxon Pub’s side by the end. Thus, for these reasons, Cryptic Rock gives this film 4.5 out of 5 stars.
