(1641 – 1702) Born into the family of the powerful magnate who led a rebellion against King Jan Kazimierz, Stanisław Lubomirski was educated in France, Spain, and Italy. He returned to Poland in 1662 and began his political career, becoming a deputy, Sejm Marshal (1670), and Grand Marshal of the Crown (1676).
Stanisław Herakliusz was a friend of many European artists and patrons of the arts, as evidenced by correspondence. He had relations with the French and Spanish courts, as well as members of the Medici family .
