This episode of "The Bold Ones: The Senator" shows Senator Hays Stowe (Hal Holbrook) heading an investigation into a Kent State-like incident at a University. As at Kent State, National Guard soldiers under the command of a nervous young officer (Randolph Mantooth) fire on anti-war protesters.

With Hal Holbrook, Michael Tolan, Sharon Acker, Murray Hamilton. When a memo by Jordan Boyle, Stowe's chief aide, get released and misinterpreted Hays pays for it. A columnist for a tabloid accuses the Senator of taking money from the syndicate.
The Senator was one of the three rotating elements that comprised The Bold Ones during the 1970-1971 season (replacing the original Bold Ones series The Protectors). The other two were The New Doctors and The Lawyers .
