   Is 'the Dresden Files' a good show?

   • It can be accused to ripping-off anything from CSI, Buffy, Charmed or even Law & Order, but I think that The Dresden Files stood well on its own two feet. The cold, wintry (often Xmasy) feel to the show and the naturalised look sits well with the supernatural element and there is a dynamic range of characters.

   Do you need a miracle if you've read the Dresden Files?

   • If you need a miracle, call Harry Dresden. According to author Jim Butcher, he provided each main member of the cast with several of the books in the series. However, Valerie Cruz was the only member of the central cast who had read any of the books prior to filming. There was so much about The Dresden Files that appealed to me.

   The Dresden Files fails in the same way most new series on SciFi fail: it is basically unwatchable. Forget the fact that besides the excellent lead actor, the rest of the cast is particularly bland and poorly chosen (make another exception for Terence Mann who is only hampered by bad directing, not by lack of talent).
