Children's book editor Sarah Tomkins decides that something is missing from her life, despite a no-strings romantic arrangement with handsome businessman Marcus Sonti and plenty of ego-stroking support from assistant Buddy. Her impulsive decision to have a baby, however, hits a snag when her doctor tells Sarah she can't get pregnant. More determined than ever, Sarah tries to coax her estranged younger sister, Coco, into carrying the child for her.
