We bought the book "Core Data Service for ABAP" and in the code examples for the book we use the command 'define root view'. I have 2 questions about the CDS command 'define root view'.
ABAP CDS - DEFINE VIEW. Syntax. @AbapCatalog.sqlViewName: 'CDS_DB_VIEW' [ @view_annot1] [ @view_annot2] ... [DEFINE] VIEW cds_entity [ name_list] [ parameter_list] AS select_statement [;] Effect. Defines a CDS view in the ABAP CDS in a CDS source code. A CDS is implemented using a query select_statement.
Use the CREATE VIEW statement to define a view, which is a logical table based on one or more tables or views. A view contains no data itself. The tables upon which a view is based are called base tables.
