- John Travolta (Danny Zuko) Before he donned Danny Zuko's leather jacket, John Travolta was already a bona fide star thanks to his roles as Vinnie Barbarino on Welcome Back, Kotter, Billy Nolan in Carrie (1976), and Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever (1977) — for which he received his first Academy Award nomination.
