Tyler State Park is a state park north of Tyler, Texas. It is 985.5 acres (399 ha) in Smith County, north of Tyler. The park includes a 64-acre (26 ha) lake. The land was deeded by private owners in 1934 and 1935; original improvements were made by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The park opened in 1939.
This is a nice old State Park about 100 miles from Dallas & 100 Miles From Shreveport Louisana. Great park for Tent campers or Pop Up Trailers and the Big Rigs. Best spot for camping is the Lakeview area, though spots are close to the road and if you have a 5th Wheeler I'd go for the Big Pine Campsites instead.

Park office Hours are 8:30am-4:30pm daily. Seasonally the park stays open later on Friday through Sunday. An honor box at headquarters is used to collect camping and day use fees when the office is closed. Park Store Open year round; Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Open daily.
