     If you just want to set/add that field/key to that value you shouldn't use $addToSet but simply $set.

     It is the same as if your document was Map and you want to and a new key/value, except it is done on the server.

     As per the API best practices, It is recommended that you use separate ones for security reasons but while one API key per application is ideal for security purposes, you can use restricted keys on multiple apps as long as they use the same type of application restriction.

     Now with regards to your plan on reproducing an uber like app with navigation and other stuff from Google Maps API by combining them together to create such an app, I'd suggest that you seek legal advise and review the Google Maps Terms of Service 3.2.3 Restrictions Against Misusing the Services. (d) No Re-Creating Google Products or Features:

     Customer will not use the Services to create a product or service with features that are substantially similar to or that re-create the features of another Google product or service...

     The reason I'd suggest that you review the Terms is because Google Maps API already have the On-demand Rides and Deliveries Solution

     As per the documentation:

     The On-demand Rides and Deliveries Solution is a development toolkit for building on-demand mobility services. You can use the Navigation SDK alone to provide real time tracking maps in your app. If you want to add coordinated trips, the toolkit provides web services and a set of APIs that wrap the functionality of maps, routes, and places into interfaces specifically designed for ridesharing and delivery solutions.

     You can read the documentation to learn more about it. But with this, I believe this fits with your use case and for you to start availing for this is for you to Contact Sales first since this is currently available only to select partners.

The service "computes travel distance and journey duration between multiple origins and destinations using a given mode of travel".      The code snippet you provided is using Find Place From Query which is one of the services under the Places Library of Google Maps JavaScript API.

     The @react-google-maps/api is a library that was created to provide very simple bindings to Google Maps JavaScript API and as the documentation states, it only have Autocomplete and StandaloneSearchBox components for Places Library.

     If you would like to use the Find Place From Query, you can implement it by calling the findPlaceFromQuery() method when the map loads. You will see that in my code snippet below, I call it in the onMapLoad() function. I also use state for center and coordsResults that will hold the array for the findPlaceFromQuery result. I will then use a condition to check the coordsResults state before showing the marker for the result. Here is the sample code and code snippet below:
