Miroslav Grčev (Macedonian: Мирослав Грчев, pronounced [mi'roslaf gr̩'t͡ʃɛf]; born 1955) is a Macedonian architect, graphic designer, comics artist and caricaturist. He is known for having designed the current flag of North Macedonia and a popular proposal for a new coat of arms of North Macedonia .

In 1995, the Macedonian government appointed Miroslav Grčev to draft a proposal for a new flag. Grčev went on to propose 12 designs for the flag that would have a sun in the center. Eventually, Grčev's last proposal was accepted - the design where the sun rays are on the entire surface of the flag. [14]

A proposal by architect and graphic designer Miroslav Grčev was put forward in 1992 to replace the emblem with a revised version of the historical gold lion on a red shield. The Macedonian Heraldry Society considers that coat of arms to have been the best solution for a new state emblem. [11]
