Lying on the outskirts of St. Paul, this medium-sized town has a population of about 27,000.

Fortunately, the Township of Northdale and a portion of East Oakdale agreed to join the Township of Oakdale and became incorporated as Oakdale on February 20, 1968. The remaining portion of East Oakdale consolidated with Lake Elmo.
