Dr. Bernice A. King is a global thought leader, strategist, solutionist, orator, peace advocate, and CEO of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center For Nonviolent Social Change (The King Center), which was founded by her mother as the official living memorial to the life, work, and legacy of her father.
Through her work at The King Center, Dr. King educates youth and adults about the nonviolent principles modeled by her parents. In 2012, she implemented the Camp N.O.W. Leadership Academy which has engaged youth from New Mexico, South Carolina, Michigan, Alabama, and as far away as the Island of Cyprus.

In 1990, King was the first official graduate of a joint degree receiving her Masters of Divinity and J.D. degrees from Emory Candler School of Theology and Emory University Law School.
She graduated from Spelman College with a BA in psychology in 1985, and went on to earn a JD and Master of Divinity from Emory University in 1990. On 27 March 1988 she delivered her first sermon at Ebenezer Baptist Church, the church of her father and grandfather.
Dr. King holds a Doctorate of Law from Emory University, A Master of Divinity Degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Spellman College. She also received an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Wesley College and Clinton College.
