Jackson (Justin Herwick), a gay Los Angeles poet who engages in a promiscuous lifestyle, has a new gig writing lyrics for rocker Sonny Spike (Willie Garson). While at his friend's record store, Jackson meets the conservative Derek (Sean Thibodeau), who becomes instantly attracted to him.
